We excavate and compact a proper base, set the first course below grade, batter the wall back into the hill, and install drainage stone and drain tile behind it so hydrostatic pressure has somewhere to go. Walls that fail almost always failed at drainage.
We build in segmental block and natural stone and will show you both against your house before you choose. Curves, steps, corners and caps are planned up front, along with how the wall ties into existing beds, patios and lawn so the finished grade actually works.
